A Full-Circle Walk in Central Park with Joerose Tharakan
Recently, I had the privilege of walking 4 miles in Central Park with Joerose Tharakan for Dialogue Miles™. She brought energy, enthusiasm, and a depth of curiosity from her own experiences, making the walk both meaningful and memorable.
We connected after the COS25 event. She reached out to schedule the walk, and I’m glad she did. We actually started in the same place where the very first 100 Miles of Dialogue™ walk began, with Deb Cupp, so this one carried a special kind of full-circle energy.
Joerose wore heels and still managed to outpace me.
Along the way, we tested the idea of smiling at strangers, caught the attention of a photographer who took our photo, and paused to witness a proposal. We also shared stories that connected our New England roots, Colby and College of the Holy Cross.
Reflections from the Walk
Elect in.
Choose to participate fully in the moment and the conversation.Multiply the idea.
Take walking and talking with people and make it your own.Ask better questions.
What inspires you? What bridges are you building?Ecosystems must stay human.
They only work when connection is at the core.Board leadership requires balance.
Mental strength and human connection both matter.Camaraderie and teamwork still win.
No matter the setting.
We covered a lot of ground in four miles. More importantly, we covered ideas that will carry forward.
Appreciate you making the time to walk and talk, Joerose. Let’s keep building.
