Three Miles, Real Conversation, and a Lot of Laughter with Heather Lucore

Recently, Heather Lucore and I enjoyed a wonderful 3-mile walk through some of Nashville’s most iconic spots. We started near the Cumberland River, strolled past the historic Ryman Auditorium, and took advantage of a quiet Broadway on a beautiful morning.

We first met for a great few days of discussions with Ann Howard and Stephen Bonventre, later we reconnected and took a walk to expand our thinking.

As we walked, we had some deep and meaningful conversations about life and work.

A Few Things That Stayed with Me

  • Bring Your Passions to Work
We discussed how important it is to infuse our work with what we truly love. Passion drives excellence and fulfillment.

  • Support the Next Generation
We talked about the importance of challenging, advocating for, and being honest with the next generation. It’s crucial to support their growth with integrity.

  • Enjoy the Simple Things
From family and gardens to laughter and friends, we reflected on the joy these bring to our lives. It’s the little things that make life beautiful.

  • Self-Awareness & Impact
We acknowledged how our tendencies can affect others and the importance of managing our time wisely. Being mindful of our actions and their ripple effects is key.

  • Create Safe Space
Creating environments where we can discuss the really important stuff openly and safely is essential. Honest conversations can lead to profound insights and growth.

  • Do Not Forget to Laugh
And of course, we agreed that a good laugh is a must! It lightens the mood and strengthens bonds.

It was a walk filled with reflection, connection, and a lot of laughter. Here’s to more walks and talks that cause us to pause and silence the phone for a few minutes.

Thankful for the time, Heather.
