A Walk Through London with Trent Smyth and No Agenda

A morning well spent. Three miles starting near Holborn Station, weaving through London's historic streets, experiencing the sights of the River Thames, the Australian Embassy, and a stop at the The Chief of Staff Association offices. My walk with Trent Smyth wasn’t just about the landmarks, but about the conversations that emerged from being surrounded by so much history.

Reconnecting with Trent for a Dialogue Miles™ walk so quickly after the recent COS25 event kept the momentum going. I’ve since learned that Trent is an exceptional storyteller with pragmatic perspectives that spark some deep reflections.

Takeaways from the Walk

  • Share experiences to find connection.
Less about yourself. More curiosity about others. That is where connection begins.

  • No agenda can be the best agenda.
Let the conversation unfold. The most meaningful dialogue often happens without forcing it.

  • Reinvention tells a story.
Being open creates understanding. Growth often begins where comfort ends.

  • Common values build trust quickly.
Informal time can accelerate relationships more than structured meetings.

  • Relatability strengthens networks.
We all know people who can help each other. The key is making the connection count.

As we wrapped up, one question stayed with me. If someone needed help or just a conversation, would you pick up the phone?

The answer was simple. Yes.
