A Walk Along the Sammamish River with Joanne Clarke and Deb Cupp

Last week, I had the chance to walk 2.5 miles with Joanne Clarke and Deb Cupp by the Sammamish River when I was in town for the COS25 event at Microsoft in Redmond.

The Dialogue Miles™ walk was fun but also funny, personal, thoughtful, and full of care and intention. It was a much-needed break from a busy day, but more importantly, a time to connect and share personal stories about kids, vacations, and puppies. Here are some key takeaways from our time together:

Reflections from the Walk

  • Make Time
Even in a packed schedule, there is always space for meaningful relationship development.

  • Mutual Respect
Respect creates the environment for people to grow, share, and show up fully.

  • Understand What Matters
When you take the time to understand what matters most to someone, pressure tends to ease.

  • Stay Efficient
A clear and thoughtful approach allows you to move faster and create real momentum.

It was a privilege to collaborate with such a dedicated team, thoughtful planning, infectious energy, and meaningful discussions all around. I'm truly grateful for the time spent together, both on the path and in our work.
