Six Miles Along the Sammamish
Meeting through a common friend is nothing unusual, but taking the extra step to truly connect takes effort. Thank you to Erin Russell Wieland for carving out some time to walk ~6 miles together.
We started and ended at Willows Lodge, walking along the Sammamish River thanks to a previous Dialogue Miles™ experience with Jeff Buckeye. Along the way, we had our fair share of memorable encounters: a rather bold duck that made me jump when it flew at me, a beaver carrying materials to their home in the distance, and the beautiful lavender fields of JB Family Growers.
But beyond the views, the real impact of the walk was in the conversation.
Takeaways from the Walk

Hearing a parent speak about their children is a reminder of the depth of love we should not overlook.Alternative thinking matters.
Capturing different perspectives can uncover insights that would otherwise be missed.Environment shapes dialogue.
The right setting can unlock a more open and natural conversation.Passion is contagious.
When you love what you do, others feel it.Create space for connection.
Sometimes that means something as simple as hosting a human interaction party.
Looking forward to more walks, a bit of a home renovation, family ski trips, and a steady stream of meaningful interactions ahead!
