A Conversation Driven by Curiosity and Perspective

Recently, I had the pleasure of walking 3 miles at McCabe Golf Course with Sarah Teague for Dialogue Miles™.

We were introduced by Jonathan Flack—a good friend and a leader with a gift for connecting the right people at the right time.

After coffee earlier this year with Robin Satyshur at Frothy Monkey, Sarah and I began building a relationship that continues to grow alongside Fletchline Companies.

This conversation easily ranks in my top five for curiosity and learning.

We’re both committed to taking as much away from each moment as we can.

A Few Things That Stayed with Me

  • Curiosity drives connection.
The more you lean into learning, the more depth you create in conversation. Turns out Sancerre wine is a shared favorite.

  • Perspective requires range.
To hold a strong point of view, you need to walk the full 360.

  • Belief in what’s possible matters.
Surround yourself with talent, focus on what matters, and stay close to your customers.

  • Value preservation builds respect.
When mutual value is recognized, relationships deepen.

  • Healthy aging is intentional.
Movement, rhythm, and carving out personal time all play a role.

  • Joy shows up in small ways.
Even something as simple as smiling at strangers can shift the tone of a walk.

  • Legacy stays with us.
We both inherited a family Bible

  • Take the long view.
Life isn’t just about today’s puzzle, but the tunnel ahead.

  • Connection takes effort.
I shared plans for a long walk in Maine with an old friend.

Thanks, Sarah.

Walk number two is already on my mind.

Looking forward to continuing the conversation.
