Trying Something New at Hudson Farm with Stephen Bonventre

I recently stepped into a new and challenging environment, thanks to my good friend and client Stephen Bonventre, who invited me to an event at Hudson Farm. As someone completely new to this type of experience, I was a bit nervous about how I’d do. It’s hard for my competitive nature not to take over!

What I walked away with, however, went far beyond the activity itself.

Reflections from the Experience

  • Shared Passion
When people care deeply about something, they tend to be welcoming. Being open to the experience makes it more rewarding.

  • Personalized Teaching
Great teachers take the time to understand how you learn. Ed’s patience and guidance made a difference.

  • Safety First
Confidence starts with a strong foundation. In any new environment, safety creates the space to grow.

  • Curiosity Opens Doors
There are interesting people everywhere. I had the chance to meet Rachel Barringer, whose humility matched her accomplishments.

  • Discovery Is Everywhere
New environments expose you to ideas, industries, and innovations you might not otherwise encounter.

This Dialogue Miles™ experience reinforced how valuable it is to set aside assumptions and approach situations with curiosity. When we create spaces of understanding rather than judgment, we open ourselves to new perspectives and more meaningful conversations.

Have you tried something new recently? What surprised you the most?
